NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DECORATIVE AND FINE ARTS SOCIETIES
SUSSEX AREA - CHICHESTER
Membership of our society is open to all and currently we have 280 members.
CDFAS was founded by our President, Mrs. Audrey
Macintosh in September 1978 when it became the 92nd of 355 societies that make up NADFAS today.
The association is divided into
20 areas, including mainland Europe. Our society is one of 24 in the Sussex area. All societies are autonomous, but we all share the
same objectives and values. In addition CDFAS is one of only two in the area having charitable status.
Prospective members are
invited to apply for further information and are most welcome to attend by prior arrangement.
Lectures are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (excluding July, August and September) at 10.45am in the Assembly Room, The Council
House, North Street, Chichester PO19 1LQ.
Apart from lectures there are Days of Special Interest when members have the opportunity to study a subject in more detail.
Visits to exhibitions and places of interest are particularly popular as is the annual short cultural holiday.
The three Chichester societies have combined to form a Church Recording Group and have just started work on the Bishop's Chapel, Chichester
.
