Area Day of Special Interest In Partnership with Chichester Cathedral
On Monday , 28th November 2011 about 100 members spent
a memorable day at Chichester Cathedral which included:
- A Tudor Tour inside the Cathedral led by Colin
Clark (Head Guide)
- An explanation of the Cathedral Library's Holdings by Dr. Charlotte Hansen
- A presentation by Art Historian, Karen Coke in the Tudor Room of the
Bishop's
Palace with a chance to view the fully restored Lambert Barnard
painted ceiling
- The Tudor Paintings - an illustrated talk on the Tudor Paintings and the work
of
the Hamilton Kerr Institute in the South Transept given by the Trust
Director,
Alison Godfrey
This was followed after Lunch by a lecture from the The
Chancellor, The Reverend Canon Dr. Anthony Cane entitled:-
" From Commissioning in Tudor Times
to Commissioning Today"

Deirdre's Swan Song !!!
Our Area Chairman, Deirdre Booth, is running a Sussex Area Cultural Visit to Northumberland from the 16th
to the 20th of August 2012. We will stay half board at a 4 Star Hotel in Durham and be accompanied by a Blue Badge Guide.The Cost
